Effective Date: 1 October 2026
Last Updated: 1 October 2026
Platform Operator: Bilma Technologies Ltd
Product: Chamber by Bilma (“Chamber”, “we”, “us”, or “our”)
Jurisdiction: Nigeria
Important: These Terms of Service are intended as a product and platform terms framework for Chamber by Bilma. Bilma Technologies Ltd should have these Terms reviewed by qualified Nigerian legal counsel before publication, particularly the provisions relating to legal-practitioner obligations, payments, liability, dispute resolution, consumer protection, professional regulation, and data protection.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Chamber by Bilma, including the Chamber website, applications, dashboards, public practitioner profiles, discovery features, booking functionality, smart intake, calendar integrations, notifications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By creating an account, connecting a third-party service, publishing a practitioner profile, booking a consultation, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Chamber.
If you use Chamber on behalf of a law firm, chambers, company, partnership, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on that organization’s behalf.
2. What Chamber Is
Chamber is a technology platform designed to help legal practitioners manage their professional presence and client workflows and to help clients discover and engage legal practitioners.
Depending on the features enabled, Chamber may provide:
- professional practitioner profiles;
- legal-practitioner discovery;
- service listings;
- consultation booking;
- smart intake;
- appointment management;
- availability management;
- Google Calendar synchronization;
- Google Meet integration;
- client/practitioner relationship management;
- matter-management tools;
- conflict-screening assistance;
- case-study publishing;
- reviews and ratings;
- notifications and reminders; and
- analytics and administrative tools.
Chamber is not a law firm, legal practice, legal adviser, or legal representative.
Bilma Technologies Ltd does not provide legal advice merely because a user accesses or uses Chamber.
3. Legal Practitioner Relationship
A legal practitioner who offers services through Chamber is an independent professional.
When a client selects a practitioner:
- the client is engaging with that practitioner;
- the practitioner is responsible for the professional service;
- the practitioner is responsible for applicable professional obligations;
- the practitioner is responsible for the accuracy of their profile and service information; and
- Chamber acts as the technology platform facilitating the interaction.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in a separate written agreement, Bilma Technologies Ltd is not a party to the lawyer-client engagement.
Nothing on Chamber creates a lawyer-client relationship between a client and Bilma Technologies Ltd.
4. Eligibility
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must keep your information reasonably current.
Practitioner accounts are intended for appropriately qualified and authorized legal professionals.
A practitioner may be required to provide professional information or documentation for verification where Chamber implements a verification process.
Clients must provide accurate information necessary to use the Services.
You must not create an account using another person’s identity or credentials without authorization.
5. Chamber Accounts
5.1 Account security
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials;
- using a secure password;
- protecting access to your account;
- ensuring information submitted through your account is accurate; and
- notifying Chamber if you believe your account has been compromised.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity resulted from unauthorized access that you could not reasonably have prevented.
5.2 One global customer identity
Chamber may maintain one customer identity for an individual while allowing that customer to maintain separate professional relationships with multiple practitioners.
Creating a relationship with one practitioner does not create ownership of the customer’s Chamber account by that practitioner.
5.3 Practitioner tenant
Each practitioner may operate within a separate professional workspace or tenant.
Private information belonging to one practitioner is intended to remain isolated from other practitioners.
6. Practitioner Profiles
Practitioners may create public professional profiles.
A practitioner is responsible for ensuring that information they publish is:
- accurate;
- current;
- lawful;
- professionally appropriate;
- not misleading;
- not confidential client information; and
- compliant with applicable professional rules.
Public profile information may include:
- professional name;
- photograph;
- biography;
- professional title;
- location;
- firm or chambers name;
- practice areas;
- qualifications;
- years of practice;
- professional links;
- services;
- prices;
- consultation formats;
- published case studies;
- reviews; and
- other information the practitioner chooses to publish.
Chamber may prevent or remove publication of profiles that do not meet applicable publication requirements.
7. Practitioner Verification
Where Chamber offers practitioner verification, a verification status indicates only the status of the verification process implemented by Chamber.
A verification badge does not constitute:
- a guarantee of professional competence;
- an endorsement of the practitioner;
- a guarantee of the quality of legal services;
- a guarantee of a legal outcome; or
- a substitute for independent professional due diligence.
Chamber may suspend or remove verification where information becomes inaccurate, a verification requirement is no longer satisfied, or misuse is identified.
8. Services Offered by Practitioners
Practitioners may create services containing information such as:
- service name;
- description;
- practice area;
- price;
- currency;
- duration;
- consultation format;
- physical consultation location;
- availability; and
- booking requirements.
Practitioners are responsible for the accuracy of their service descriptions and pricing.
Chamber does not independently guarantee that a listed service, price, qualification, or professional claim is accurate unless Chamber expressly represents that it has verified that information.
A service must not be used to offer unlawful, fraudulent, or prohibited activities.
9. Discovery and Search
Chamber may provide a “Find a Lawyer” or similar discovery feature.
Search and discovery results may be based on factual information such as:
- practice areas;
- services;
- location;
- consultation format;
- availability;
- profile information;
- published case studies;
- completed consultations;
- eligible reviews;
- ratings; and
- other public or platform-generated signals.
Chamber does not guarantee that a search result represents the most qualified practitioner for a particular legal issue.
Search results are not legal recommendations or endorsements.
Chamber does not guarantee that a practitioner will achieve a particular legal outcome.
10. Case Studies
Practitioners may create case studies describing previous work.
A practitioner is solely responsible for ensuring that a case study:
- does not disclose confidential information without authorization;
- is sufficiently anonymized where necessary;
- does not misrepresent the practitioner’s work;
- does not make prohibited professional claims;
- complies with applicable professional rules; and
- has all required client permissions or legal basis for publication.
Chamber may provide workflow controls such as draft, review, published, and archived states.
Chamber does not automatically determine that a case study is professionally or legally appropriate for publication.
11. Reviews and Ratings
Clients may be permitted to review a practitioner following a qualifying completed consultation.
Reviews must be:
- based on a genuine interaction;
- truthful to the best of the reviewer’s knowledge;
- relevant to the professional service;
- free from unlawful threats or harassment; and
- free from confidential information that the reviewer is not authorized to disclose.
Users must not:
- submit fake reviews;
- purchase or sell reviews;
- manipulate ratings;
- impersonate another reviewer;
- coordinate fraudulent reviews;
- post reviews for consultations that did not occur; or
- use reviews to disclose confidential legal information.
Chamber may moderate, hide, flag, or remove reviews that violate these Terms or applicable law.
Where a review is tied to a completed Chamber appointment, Chamber may identify it as a verified consultation.
A verified consultation does not mean Chamber endorses the content of the review.
Practitioners may be permitted to respond to reviews but may not alter a client’s review.
12. Consultation Booking
Chamber may allow clients to book consultations with practitioners.
A booking may require:
- selecting a practitioner;
- selecting a service;
- completing intake questions;
- selecting consultation mode;
- selecting a date and time;
- providing contact information; and
- completing any required payment process.
A booking is not necessarily confirmed until Chamber indicates that the booking has been successfully confirmed.
Practitioners may establish their own:
- service prices;
- availability;
- minimum notice;
- cancellation policies;
- consultation durations;
- consultation modes; and
- other booking requirements.
13. Appointment Availability
Chamber may use the practitioner’s configured working hours together with connected calendar availability to determine bookable times.
Where a practitioner connects Google Calendar, Chamber may check availability to reduce double bookings.
Availability displayed by Chamber is not a guarantee that an appointment can be completed.
A slot may become unavailable between selection and confirmation.
Chamber may reject or require a new time selection if the requested slot becomes unavailable.
14. Google Calendar and Google Meet
Practitioners may connect Google Calendar to Chamber.
When authorized, Chamber may use Google Calendar to:
- check availability;
- create Chamber consultation events;
- update events when consultations are rescheduled;
- cancel Chamber-created events; and
- create Google Meet conferencing for virtual consultations where supported.
Google Calendar and Google Meet are third-party services operated by Google.
Your use of those services may also be governed by Google’s applicable terms and policies.
Chamber does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of Google Calendar or Google Meet.
If a practitioner disconnects Google Calendar or revokes authorization, calendar-powered features may become unavailable until the connection is restored.
15. Virtual and Physical Consultations
A service may support:
- virtual consultations;
- physical consultations; or
- both.
For virtual consultations, Chamber may provide a Google Meet link or another supported meeting mechanism.
For physical consultations, the practitioner is responsible for providing an appropriate professional consultation location.
Chamber does not guarantee the safety, suitability, accessibility, or availability of a physical meeting location.
Users should exercise appropriate caution when attending an in-person consultation.
16. Smart Intake
Chamber may provide a smart intake experience that collects information progressively and asks questions based on the user’s selected service or legal enquiry.
Smart intake is intended to facilitate information collection and workflow.
It is not legal advice.
Chamber does not guarantee that an intake form identifies every relevant legal issue, party, deadline, fact, or document.
Clients remain responsible for providing accurate information and should not rely on an intake workflow as a substitute for professional legal advice.
17. Conflict Screening
Chamber may provide tools that assist practitioners in identifying potential name or party matches for conflict review.
Any automated or assisted conflict screening is intended only as a workflow aid.
It does not constitute a final legal or professional conflict determination.
Practitioners remain responsible for conducting conflict checks appropriate to their professional obligations.
Chamber does not guarantee that its conflict-screening functionality will identify every potential conflict.
Clients should not interpret an intake submission or booking confirmation as proof that a practitioner has accepted the matter or completed a professional conflict assessment.
18. AI and Automated Features
Chamber may use automated systems or artificial intelligence to assist with operational workflows such as:
- categorizing enquiries;
- extracting or normalizing information;
- suggesting intake questions;
- summarizing information for authorized practitioners;
- identifying potential matching names for conflict review; and
- improving workflow efficiency.
These systems are assistive.
They do not replace qualified professional judgment.
Chamber does not intend automated features to:
- provide legal advice as a substitute for a lawyer;
- make final conflict determinations;
- independently reject clients;
- determine legal rights;
- determine legal outcomes; or
- make final professional decisions on behalf of practitioners.
Users must independently verify information produced by automated systems before relying on it for professional or legal decisions.
19. Fees and Payments
Where Chamber facilitates payment for practitioner services, the applicable price, currency, payment method, taxes, processing fees, and cancellation/refund conditions will be presented through the relevant booking or payment interface.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- practitioners are responsible for setting their service prices;
- practitioners are responsible for determining whether applicable taxes or professional charges apply;
- payment processing may be performed by a third-party payment provider;
- third-party payment-provider terms may apply; and
- Chamber does not guarantee the outcome of a legal service merely because payment has been completed.
Where Chamber charges practitioners subscription, transaction, or other platform fees, those fees will be disclosed through the applicable practitioner plan or commercial agreement.
20. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Practitioners may configure cancellation and rescheduling policies where supported.
A cancellation or rescheduling may be subject to the practitioner’s published policy.
If a consultation is cancelled:
- the Chamber appointment status may be updated;
- a connected Google Calendar event may be cancelled or updated;
- relevant notifications may be sent; and
- refunds, where applicable, will be handled according to the applicable payment and cancellation terms.
Chamber may intervene in a booking or account where necessary to address fraud, abuse, technical errors, security concerns, or legal requirements.
21. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
- provide accurate information;
- provide information necessary for the requested service;
- attend consultations at agreed times;
- use Chamber lawfully;
- respect practitioners and other users;
- avoid submitting malicious files or content;
- avoid impersonation;
- avoid fraudulent bookings;
- avoid manipulating reviews;
- avoid attempting to access another user’s information; and
- comply with applicable law.
A client should not use Chamber to submit information that they are not authorized to provide.
22. Practitioner Responsibilities
Practitioners agree to:
- maintain accurate professional information;
- maintain appropriate qualifications and authorizations required to practice;
- comply with applicable Nigerian law and professional rules;
- maintain professional confidentiality;
- use client information lawfully;
- perform appropriate conflict checks;
- provide services professionally;
- honor published prices and booking terms where applicable;
- maintain appropriate records;
- protect account credentials;
- avoid misleading claims;
- avoid publishing confidential client information;
- obtain appropriate permissions for public case studies and testimonials; and
- promptly update Chamber when important professional information changes.
Practitioners remain responsible for the legal services they provide.
23. Prohibited Uses
You must not use Chamber to:
- violate any law or regulation;
- impersonate another person or organization;
- create fraudulent accounts;
- misrepresent professional qualifications;
- submit false professional credentials;
- publish confidential information without authorization;
- upload malware or malicious code;
- attempt unauthorized access to another account or tenant;
- bypass security controls;
- interfere with Chamber infrastructure;
- scrape or systematically extract private data without authorization;
- manipulate ratings or reviews;
- create fraudulent bookings;
- use Chamber for harassment, threats, discrimination, or abuse;
- use Chamber to facilitate unlawful activity;
- reverse engineer or circumvent technical protections except where legally permitted;
- use another practitioner’s private data for competitive intelligence or other unauthorized purposes; or
- use Google Calendar access for purposes unrelated to the authorized Chamber integration.
24. Intellectual Property
Chamber and its underlying software, design, branding, interfaces, documentation, and technology are owned by or licensed to Bilma Technologies Ltd and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, Bilma grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use Chamber for its intended purposes.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Chamber except where expressly permitted by law or written authorization.
25. User Content
You retain rights you already have in content you submit to Chamber, subject to the rights necessary for Chamber to provide the Services.
By submitting content, you grant Bilma a limited license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, process, and display that content as reasonably necessary to:
- operate Chamber;
- provide requested functionality;
- display information according to your settings;
- facilitate bookings and professional relationships;
- maintain security;
- provide support; and
- comply with legal obligations.
For public practitioner content, this license also permits Chamber to display the content publicly as directed by the practitioner.
We do not claim ownership of a practitioner’s legal work product merely because it is stored in Chamber.
26. Public Content
Information a practitioner intentionally publishes through a public profile may be accessible to internet users.
Practitioners should not publish:
- confidential client information;
- private contact information they do not want publicly accessible;
- privileged communications;
- sensitive personal information about clients;
- documents that contain confidential information; or
- content they do not have permission to publish.
Once public information has been indexed, copied, cached, or shared by third parties, Chamber may not be able to control copies outside its platform.
27. Privacy
Your use of Chamber is also subject to the Chamber by Bilma Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains:
- what personal data Chamber collects;
- how it is used;
- practitioner and client privacy responsibilities;
- Google Calendar data practices;
- data retention;
- security;
- data-subject rights; and
- how to contact us about privacy.
The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
28. Third-Party Services
Chamber may integrate with third-party services, including:
- Google;
- Google Calendar;
- Google Meet;
- payment providers;
- email providers;
- cloud infrastructure providers;
- analytics providers; and
- other service providers.
Third-party services may have separate terms, privacy policies, service limitations, and availability requirements.
Bilma is not responsible for third-party services that it does not control.
29. Service Availability
We aim to keep Chamber available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Services will:
- be uninterrupted;
- be available at all times;
- be error-free;
- be compatible with every device or browser;
- remain unchanged;
- integrate continuously with every third-party service; or
- be free from security vulnerabilities.
Maintenance, upgrades, outages, security incidents, third-party failures, network issues, and circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect availability.
30. Account Suspension and Termination
Bilma may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account where reasonably necessary to:
- enforce these Terms;
- investigate fraud or abuse;
- protect users;
- protect platform security;
- address unlawful activity;
- comply with legal requirements;
- address professional misconduct relevant to the platform;
- respond to a security incident; or
- prevent misuse of third-party integrations.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Practitioners may also close their Chamber account according to the available account-closure process.
Termination does not automatically erase information that must be retained under applicable law, contractual obligations, security requirements, or professional recordkeeping requirements.
31. Consequences of Termination
After account termination:
- access to Chamber may be disabled;
- public practitioner profiles may be unpublished;
- future bookings may be prevented;
- connected integrations may be disconnected;
- practitioner services may no longer be publicly bookable; and
- applicable records may be retained according to the Privacy Policy and legal requirements.
Existing legal relationships and obligations between practitioners and clients are not automatically terminated merely because a Chamber account is closed.
32. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
Chamber is provided as a technology service and does not guarantee:
- the accuracy of practitioner information that has not been verified by Chamber;
- the quality of a practitioner’s legal services;
- a particular legal outcome;
- the success of a consultation;
- the availability of a particular practitioner;
- the completeness of smart intake;
- the completeness of automated conflict screening;
- the accuracy of AI-assisted outputs;
- uninterrupted operation of Google Calendar or Google Meet;
- that a consultation will occur exactly as scheduled; or
- that information displayed by third parties is accurate or current.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
33. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bilma Technologies Ltd will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses arising from your use of Chamber, including loss of profits, business opportunities, goodwill, or data, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Bilma’s aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Services will be limited to the amount paid by the affected user to Bilma for the Services during the applicable period preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or another amount required by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for matters that cannot legally be excluded, including liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct, or other circumstances where limitation is prohibited by law.
34. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bilma Technologies Ltd and its officers, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs arising from:
- your unlawful use of Chamber;
- your violation of these Terms;
- content you submit or publish;
- your infringement of another person’s rights;
- your professional activities;
- your breach of confidentiality obligations; or
- your misuse of third-party integrations.
This section does not require indemnification to the extent the claim resulted from Bilma’s own unlawful conduct or liability that cannot legally be shifted to you.
35. Professional and Legal Responsibility
For practitioners
You are solely responsible for:
- the legal advice you provide;
- legal documents you prepare;
- professional decisions;
- conflict checks;
- client communications;
- deadlines;
- court or regulatory filings;
- professional conduct;
- fees and engagement terms;
- client confidentiality; and
- compliance with applicable professional rules.
Chamber does not supervise or direct your legal practice.
For clients
You are responsible for:
- deciding whether to engage a practitioner;
- reviewing the practitioner’s profile and engagement terms;
- providing accurate information;
- following professional advice received directly from your practitioner; and
- making your own decisions regarding your legal affairs.
Chamber does not select a lawyer for you or guarantee a particular practitioner-client relationship.
36. Disputes Between Practitioners and Clients
Disputes concerning legal services, professional conduct, fees, legal advice, representation, or outcomes are primarily between the practitioner and client.
Chamber may provide technical records relevant to platform activity where legally permitted and may assist with platform-related disputes.
Nothing in this section prevents a person from exercising rights or remedies available under applicable law or professional regulatory processes.
37. Electronic Communications
By using Chamber, you consent to receiving electronic communications necessary to operate the Services.
These may include:
- account notifications;
- booking confirmations;
- appointment reminders;
- cancellation notices;
- security alerts;
- support communications;
- service announcements; and
- other transactional communications.
Electronic communications may satisfy legal requirements that communications be in writing where applicable law permits.
38. Changes to the Services
We may modify, add, or remove features from Chamber.
We may discontinue features where reasonably necessary for security, legal, operational, commercial, or product reasons.
Where a change materially affects users, we may provide reasonable notice where required.
39. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When changes are material, we may notify users through Chamber, email, or another reasonable method.
The “Last Updated” date will indicate the most recent revision.
Your continued use of Chamber after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by applicable law.
If you do not agree with updated Terms, you should stop using the Services and close your account where applicable.
40. Governing Law
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to any mandatory rights or protections that apply to you.
The parties should seek to resolve disputes in good faith before commencing formal proceedings, except where urgent legal relief or another exception is appropriate.
Any specific jurisdiction, arbitration, or dispute-resolution mechanism applicable to a particular commercial arrangement may be stated in a separate written agreement.
41. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be modified or interpreted to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable where legally possible.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
42. No Waiver
A failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce that provision later.
43. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent, except where applicable law permits otherwise.
Bilma may assign or transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
44. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable service-specific terms or commercial agreements, constitute the agreement governing your use of Chamber.
Where a separate written agreement with Bilma expressly conflicts with these Terms, the specific written agreement will control for the subject matter covered by that agreement.
